Hi all,
win2kadv server
win2k pro client
This one clent decided to disjoin all by itself while gf playing games on it
As the Administrator. All I know is when I came home
I could not get in any more on same machine as administrator
of domain. I get on only as admin of that machines local domain.
when I tried to log into the domain it said it couldnt.
so I went over to the dc and checked its machine entry.
and its gone.
so then the client tries to join
and its machine entry on the dc shows up
as disabled.
so I enable it on the dc.
the client still cant join.
so I delete the machine entry.
when the client tries to join it shows back up
as disabled again.
I even go and reset the machine account.
it shows back up as disabled on the dc,
and the client will not join; Traitor!
ok. when I try using the network Id wizard on the client,
it says first: an account for this machine has been found,
would you like to use it?
well DOH hell yes I do.
Then the client waits and waits then says:
the client could not be joined to the domain
because the service could not be started.
--What service would that be?
here is more info from the log on the client
The Net Logon service terminated with service-specific error 3095.
This Windows NT computer is configured as a member of a workgroup,
not as a member of a domain. The Netlogon service does not need to
run in this configuration.
Attempt to update HOST Service Principal Names (SPNs) of the
computer object in Active Directory failed. The updated values
were '<UNAVAILABLE>' and '<UNAVAILABLE>'. The following error occurred:
The security context could not be established due to a failure
in the requested quality of service
(e.g. mutual authentication or delegation).
This Windows NT computer is configured as a member of a workgroup,
not as a member of a domain. The Netlogon service does not need to
run in this configuration.
How do I get my computer back?
this one just happens to MY workstation.
figures.
Thank you in advance,
James W. Long
