Hello Robin,

If Microsoft offer the fix, is because Microsoft has confirmed that this is
a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to"
section.

APPLIES TO
• Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2, when used with:
Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
Microsoft Windows XP Professional

Last friday, I get:
Stop:0x0000000a (0x00000004, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0x804e97af), so I went
to the D/L site and reinstall the 2.2 MB. If Microsoft is offering 725 KB for
the fix, why not take it.

This is my opnion.

Do you mean KB929338? This seems to be a bug fix for the memory manager,
so even if I don't experience the specific problem, I installed it. If
the fix causes you any problems, you can always uninstall it later.

That's the approach I adopted too. Seems fine as far as I can tell.
