Do some mail servers drop windows mail?

Dear Groupers,

Please read and think wiht me.
Since about a fortnight ago a client of our company suddenly noticed
that the mails sent with the vista windows mail client did no longer
arrive at one particular mailbox. Using OE from another machine on the
same LAN did not have the same problems, ie targeted mailbox did
receive the messages.

Testing this I sent several messages cc to one of my mailboxes. They
all arrived on my mailboxes but not on the intended one.

Any ideas on what is causing this? BTW the sent messages were not
found in the spam folder either.

Are you doing any AV scanning? Turn it off an try it again.

Dear DGuess,

No AV-scanner that I know off.

Can't see how this could be of influence for my problem. That would mean
that the CC-part of the message would get through and the original
receiver part not??

No, it would mean that the e-amil is being scanned and stopped at the
scanning source if it were running and having problems.

If the e-mail leaves the Outbox, you are no longer in control.

Are you running *any* type of antivirus software? We have reports of
McAfee and Norton antivirus interfering with mail even when their
mail scanning feature was turned off. It's best to temporarily uninstall
your antivirus program until you get the mail issue resolved.

When you send a message only to the malfunctioning recipient, does
the message leave the Outbox and it then appears in the Sent Items folder?
If so, it's not a Windows Mail issue.

Groupers,

The mail leaves the outbox and is visible in the sent items folder.
The CC-addressee receives the mail. The intended receiver does not.
The mail for the cc followes a different path - different mail servers -
than the mail for the intended receiver.
At the intended recievers side the mail is not found in the spam folder.

On the same LAN we send messages to the same addressees but now with OE.
Each addressee receives the mail.

Thus, for now, my conclusion is some mails servers are not able to
handle the windows mail.
