A few weeks ago win ME on my wife's laptop because corrupt (could not boot
into windows). I had to put Win XP on it to get it up and running (went out
and bought a new Win XP home upgrade).

She hasn't done the product activation yet as we aren't sure if we are going
to keep that laptop or get her a new one. She has 14 days left I think.
Everything was fine the last time she used it on Sun night. Then on Tue IE
stopped being able to see the net (we have broadband). I've tried several
times setting/reseting the IE connection - but no luck. What is odd is that
Outlook Express still works perfectly, and it claims to use the same
connection settings as IE. My question - is this Win XP shutting things
down as timeline to activate gets closer, or did IE just get whacked
somehow? Since her mail still works I'm a little afraid to mess with it too
much for fear it cause that to stop working.
