Steve

Hi All,

I have been trying to use the "do not print background"
feature under the [tools], [options] [print] menu.

No matter what I do - nor which type of printer or
printer driver I use - I can not get this feature to work.

I have tried 4 different makes of printer and each having
2 or 3 drivers.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Steve, can you tell us what it DOES do? Hard to see from way over here.

Steve,

Could you perhaps be confusing the "do not print in the background" with a
background image?

This feature...to the best of my knowledge....tells powerpoint to print in
the background so you can carry on working. Most windows pcs have this
feature built in...in the form of the "print queue".

This background *image* that you do not want to print.....is it on the slide
master?
or is it on the "format>background>fill effects>picture" instead?

What version of powerpoint are you using?

It think your right TAJ, I have confused this with
background printing..

What I wanted to do was withhold the printing of the
background "fill" or "image".

Using Powerpoint 2000 on XP

Is there any easy way to do this?

OK,....that's good

This background *image* that you do not want to print.....is it on the slide

Is it a black and white printer?

Hi Steve,

If you don't mind your print-outs in black and white,
checking the grayscale or pure black and white box in the
print window will exclude printing the background image of
your slides.
