THIS PRINTER SUCKS!!!
My 2 year old dead printer would print a full color page in the high
quality mode in less than 40 seconds. This Brand New printer does it
more the a full minute LONGER?
My 2 year old dead printer would print a black & white draft mode
print in less than 10 seconds. This 'brand new' printer at best does
this in just under 20 seconds?
Also:The cartridges that came boxed with this printer did not work. I
had to get LEXMARK to mail me 2 cartridges, a black and a color one.
It took 12 days to get here. ONE arrived and it was the black
cartridge, I was wondering where the color one was? Turns out they
shipped them on different dates??
Understand, even given the mail-back package for the dead cartridge
the box shouldn't have been bigger than 4" X 4", but they sent each
one in GIGANTIC boxes, you could have packed about 20 cartridges in
each really tight. What is the deal with that?
Also:This printer is loud. When you initially turn it on it makes this
LOUD 'clack' where the printer head does it's little 'go to the middle
and jump back'. If you forget this and reboot, be prepared to have
something standing by to shock you back to life when your heart stops.
It scares you bad, it's so sudden and violent.
The price was nice, that's all that was nice.
I'd only recommend this printer if they sold them for $10 a piece.
On a scale of 0 to 10, with 0 being the worse thing made, I would rank
this one a 0.5 [zero point five!]
Before my old printer died, after 2 years of use, I would have ranked
it about a 9.5-9.6 range. The old printer was an HP.
Lexmark needs to STAY OUT of discount all-in-one devices. Stay with
those super expensive units for offices, the ones that service 5,000
copies a day and cost $5K and up.
NOTE:I would give the online service chat a good score. At least they
were willing to send me replacement cartridges. Of course this took a
combined total of 2 hours, reconnecting and giving them more
information about me than the IRS has.
Lexmark sucks, sorry.
p.s. Yes I did time these print examples with a timer and yes I was
sure and no I don't work for any company that makes printers.
