Do not buy IBM drives

Very disappointed by IBM.
Purchased an xSeries 225 server over a yesr ago. One drive failed, and now I
CANNOT replace the drive. It is manufactired by Seagate, and the part itself
has 5 years warranty. However IBM gives me only 1 year. GO FIGURE. NICE JOB
IBM. This is my last purchase of IBM products!

What was your warranty contract when you purchased server? Can you figure
that?

If the drive has 5 year warranty then the drive has 5 year warranty.
If the drive has *not* 5 year warranty then the drive has *not* 5 year warranty.

Can he figure *that*.

Well, since IBM got out of the drive business a couple of years ago, and
your problem in any case is with a Seagate drive, not IBM, I don't think
that there's really much point to your post.

You are blaming the Seagate drive used in IBM products, but not the
Hitachi/IBM harddrive. Your subject confuses people.

Well, since IBM got out of the drive business a couple of years ago, and
your problem in any case is with a Seagate drive, not IBM, I don't think
that there's really much point to your post.

It seems he was blaming IBM computer, the warranty of bundling components
doesn't align with those in retail markets in same brands.
