After "trying" to find out information from ATI customer
service on where my software is I have decided not to
ever buy a ATI product again.

I bought a software "upgrade" for their 8500dv board that
should have been free. They even soaked me for ten dollars
extra for "handling"

After two weeks still no software. On their site they send
you to UPS, which you have to sign up for, and
then the tracking number they give you doesn't work!!!

Just try to find a contact telephone number on their site.
They just want your money and don't want to be bothered!!!

Never again for ATI!!!

Why should they give you something for free that they have to pay for
themselves? The DVD player is licensed technology--they changed sources so
there is a new license fee.

And this is a problem how? They certainly don't have any way of knowing
what UPS has done with a package except by asking UPS. And you certainly
can't be worried about UPS having your address considering that if they
didn't already have it they couldn't deliver your package.
and
then the tracking number they give you doesn't work!!!

Now that's a legitimate concern. Seems to happen with some regularity and
not just with ATI.
Just try to find a contact telephone number on their site.

Read the Terms and Conditions For the Online Store more carefully.
Especially the part about "How to contact us".

Well, for the record, MANY companys chrge around 9-10 for shipping
handleing. I dont agree with it myself but its nothing new. Ask anyone who
owned a CL live card or better and you always pay I think 9.99 for shipping
on a free disc. Another company that I know for a fact does it is Corel.
Anytime I want an updated disc its 9.95 shipping and discs themselves free.

As for UPS, thats a diff story. Their ground service can take up to 2 weeks
easy. One reson I do my darnedest to request/demand some other form of
shipping. As for the number not working maybe the number sent to you got a
digit transposed.

As for a number to contact them, you sure didnt look very hard did you? I
just went to www.ati.com , if you look across the bannerbar you see a link
that says, shock of shock, "Contact ATI". If you click that link you get a
page for Phone AND Email contacts. Very simple and easy to find (think took
me all of a minute to find)

Anyway sorry your haveing a bad time but exageration and BS doesnt help
anything. I'd recommend you go back and look and call em instead of just
saying things that are not true like "Just try to find a contact telephone
number on their site." when its absolutly easy to find.

Cheers.

Check that number with USPS.com & see if it is not really a USPS Delivery Conformation number. I just had a company send me a
product by USPS not UPS. The email said ..."your UPS tracking number...". If the number is 16 numerical digits then it just may be
a USPS number.

Now I'm waiting for the post after he gets
the phone bill for ATI's "Customer Support"
It cost me over $60 in phone charges while
trying to get the right version of R9700Pro.

Luck;

....and, if it *was* USPS, realize that a shipper can go online and
obtain a 'shipping label" (with accompanying "tracking number"), and
notice of that event can be automatically emailed to you, regardless
of whether the shipper actually sent the parcel. So, it LOOKS like the
parcel was sent, but a USPS parcel search using that tracking number
returns a null result.
