Do I need the .NET Framework?

I have installed all the patches et. to date and
I notice the .Net framework installation causes my PC to be somewhat slower
than it was and, I now have to use a logon for my single, standalone system.

Would someone be able to explain why I even need this?

I didn't seem to before.

Ron, if you are asking that question you probably don't need it. Go to
Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs
and uninstall it.

and don't load it personalize it and have it not show you
again.Or you'll get it again.

So that unsolicited smap email and web sites can better automate your
system. Unless you or your organization are rolling out your own .Net
stuff, that is basically what it boils down to right now.

Just a point of interest, but PrintShop 20 won't work without the .NET
framework installed. It sure surprised the dickens out of me when I
installed PS20.
