No, you just need to know what your IP is at the time you want to make the
connection. Some Cable internet providers do dynamic ip, but that Ip will
remain constant for months and in some cases years... other isps will hand
out new ones regularly. There are ways and tricks of getting your ip
address, but I won't go into them here because it's a long involved subject.
Again, depending on your provider, your dhcp assigned ip address could
remain fixed for long periods of time.
