Do I have a serious problem?

Hi... I'm not sure if my computer has a problem or not. I'm running Windows
XP home with SP1 and SP2 installed.

When I shut down I get an error that says:

dwwin.exe DLL Initialization Failed
The application failed to initialize because the window station is shutting
down.

Then the computer shuts down normally.

BUT, 2 times when I have started up I have gotten a notice saying that one
of my registry files failed to load and the system had to retrieve the
information from a backup or alternate copy. This worries me since I do know
the registry is critical.
In addition my computer in general seems to be running slightly slower.
I've scanned for viruses but have found nothing.

So, I don't know if the 2 problems are related or not, I know the basics of
Windows but this stuff is beyond me. I doin't even know where to begin to
attempt to figure this problem out, except for here. Any suggestions would
be very much appreciated!

Try running chkdsk.exe.
