I've twice sent email requests to HP, via their website, for
help regarding the margin problems I have on my Laserjet 5100.
The autoresponse claims I should receive a reply from an
engineer within one business day. Is this a load of flim-flam,
or what?

I suggest post to the following HP forum. You need to register (free) before
you can post. If you first search the HP forum, you may find your answer
without having to post.

While looking for the HP PCL Technical Reference Manual on CD-ROM
(part # 5961-0976), I sent several emails to HP and every one was
answered. Don't forget, if you send it on Friday, they shold see
it on Monday (if not a Monday holiday) and you should get an answer
by Tuesday.

I found the HP Tech Support people to NOT be particularly knowledgeable
(several gave me answers which later proved to be DEAD WRONG!), but by
complaining enough I was eventually called by HP representatives in
INDIA and one of them actually solved my problem!
