I am studying for the 70-216 and I have come across a statement that says
that if I want DHCP to update DNS I should put it on a member server and not
a Domain Controller because the DC shouldn't be placed in the DNSUpdateProxy
group. Why shouldn't the DC be in that group?

It's a securty risk. Read up on it.
