Hi,

I have 3 domain, 2 site, and in each domain 2 dc.
the domain are mycorp.fr paris.mycorp and montp.mycorp.fr
there are 2 Exchange server on paris.mycorp.fr and one on montp.mycorp.fr
i use windows 2003 standard an enterprise edition, and exchange 2003 sp1

When i use the Microsoft® Exchange Server Best Practices Analyzer Tool,
he report me that ont the montp.mycorp.fr server
"This error indicates that an Exchange Server computer was not found in
DNS. Both Exchange Server and Active Directory® directory service
require correctly configured and healthy DNS to operate correctly. DNS
registration and resolution issues can have widespread effects on the
ability to send, receive, and deliver messages."
when i use dnslint i have this message:

cname : guid._msdcs.mycorp.fr
alias : server3.montp.mycorp.fr
glue: unknon

Glue (A) records are missing for the following cname records

I verify the other cnamen, no problem.
I verify the record for this alias, no problem..

Thank's for your help

Emeric

Looks like you are missing the host (A) record for server3.montp.mycorp.fr
in the zone.
You can recreate it manually OR do ipconfig /registerdns on
server3.montp.mycorp.fr machine to have it register the A record on it's
own.
Make sure that server3.montp.mycorp.fr is pointing to a valid DNS server in
it's TCP/IP properties.

The host (A) is registered in the zone.

Server1 is in mycorp.fr domain (soa for this zone).
server2 and server3 are in mtp.mycorp.fr domain (server2: soa for this
zone, GC and server3: exchange).
The command i'm using is
dnslint /ad ip_server3 /s ip_server1

When i'm using dnslint on server 1 there're no probleme, all cname are ok.
On server2 i have a good report, with all cname resolved.
This problem is just on server3.

All my dns server are dynamic but not integrate in AD.

Thanks,

Ok no problem.

It's pointing on server2 dns (mtp.mycorp.fr)
