I have one Windows 2000 domain controller in place which
is ofcoarse my DNS Server. When trying to add a second
domain controller I get the following error "an active
directory domain controller for the domain cstcorp.net
could not be contacted."
It also states:
:DNS was successfully queried for the service location
resource record used to locate a domain controller for
domain cstcorp.net
Common causes of this error include:
- Host (A) records that map the name of the domain
controller to its IP addresses are missing or contain
incorrect addresses.

I have added a host record onto my DNS server and still
get the above error. Please help. Thanks.

You should not need to add any records if Dynamic updates are working.
In an AD domain, you must use only your AD DNS server in TCP/IP properties
on all members and DCs.
In addition these three things must match exactly:
Primary DNS suffix in your ipconfig /all
AD Domain name in AD Users & Computers
Forward lookup zone in DNS
