Before Upgrading my Winnt 4.0 Network, I tried an upgrade
on a pilote network. When installing Directory Services,
I was asked if I wanted Windows to install DNS for me. I
selected yes, and after the install of DNS and AD
completed, I opened DNS to add My ISP's DNS as a
forwarder but the option was gayed out. Can anyone tell
me what is the mistake that made.

Thanks

You did not make a mistake, all you need od is delete the root "." forward
lookup zone, refresh the DNS console then you can put in your forwarders.
Next :-)

You need to delete the "." root zone from the forward lookup zones. Close and reopen the DNS MMC and you should be good to go.

Thank you,
