Hello everyone!

I am trying to demote two servers and one of them is a
domain controller. For some reason, they are not able to
see each other even though they are on the same network.
When i try to dcpromo the domain controller, it says that
it can't complete the operation. I can ping both of them
from each other and have put their IP addresses in their
hosts tables and the other computer. Is there any way
that I can demote these servers in another way? Thanks.
Please reply also to my email address.

Are you pointing these machines only to the internal DNS server that holds
the FLZ for your domain?
Can you please provide an ipconfig /all for your machines?

What errors are you getting? Anything specific such as "can't find domain"?
If so, that's an SRV issue, such as they;re missing or your servers are
configed to use someother DNS server?

There's also a forceremoval switch for dcpromo. Need the hotfix. See this

Active Directory Domain Controllers:
