Dns with Wins-R

Hi,
Can someone explain to me why someone would use Wins Reverse with DNS.

I guess the same reason they would use WINS forward, to resolve IP of hosts
registered in WINS to the hosts name.
This is a good way to resolve names and IPs of clients registered in WINS,
but not registered in DNS. Some clients do not support DNS registration, but
most support WINS registration. Even if they do not support WINS
registration, you can create a WINS record, then have the ability to do
lookups on the clients in DNS, with nslookup, dig, netdig or any DNS
resolver tool.
