Does anyone know how to get around a known DNS problem using two
network cards using advanced server 2000. If using two network cards
it can cause problems resolving and replicating.
You mean on a domain controller? It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED and SUGGESTED to
NOT use multiple NICs on any domain controller. I would suggest to use a
member server for whatver reason the domain controller is multihomed
(multiple NICs) for.
Otherwise, there is a multi-step procedure to fix this that includes
registry changes. I prefer not to force a DC to go against it's default
settings to make all of these changes, but if you like, I can post them.
Honestly, I suggest, as well as many other engineers, to use a non-DC for
this to reduce the headaches and administrative overhead.
