DNS server with dual IPs - how to setup DNS properly.

I have a W2k3 DC with DNS that has two NICs. I have a separate
firewall, so I wanted to use the dual NICs on the server for
throughput. I assigned separate IPs .254 and .253 to the NICs. I added
two DNS A records so it would use round robin to spread the bandwidth.
I am getting sporatic network problems. I see an error 7062 : The DNS
server encountered a packet addressed to itself on IP address %1.

Each NIC has both IPs (of itself) defined first and the DNS server is
using forwarders to the local ISP DNS servers.

Is there anything wrong with this configuration - does it make sense?

What might be causing the 7062? I checked all the standard suggestions.
I don't have any sub domains.

If these are both NICs from the same manufacturer, and they support teaming
with their own software, go to town - otherwise, don't even bother,
seriously - just disable one. You're going to have problems. Especially,
especially because this is a DC.
