dns server setup

I need to set up a dns server on a laptop, using windows
2000, on a small intranet. Any advice on where to start?
 
Install DNS, remove the "." zone, add one or more forward zones and test. I
assume your just testing things and will not have people point to this DNS
on the laptop for production.
 
Well, I wouldn't do it on a laptop since assuming you're going to take the
laptop home with you and that won't help the network.

If you want to do this, then do you have one of the server versions
installed on the laptop? (You didn;'t specify whether or not it's Pro or a
server).

Just install DNS, create the zone for the internal domain (assuming AD?) and
allow updates. Point ALL your internal machines to the laptop. Keep the
laptop in the office.
