DNS Resolution Fails under static IP but works under DHCP

I have a new Windows 2000 member server. If I have the
server setup under DHCP I can connect to anything
internally and web browsing works perfectly.

If I set up a static IP address with the identical
gateway, DNS, etc information, I have internal
connectivity but I cannot ping by name or address anything
outside of my internal environment.

NAT is in effect.

Any ideas on what could cause this?

Is NAT setup on this machine? If so, does each NIC have a gateways? If so,
delete the gateway on the internal NIC. Maybe in IP properties, advanced,
there's an additional gateway showing up?

Otherwise, if this assumption is incorrect, can you provide a little more
info on this machine?
