Hello,

we have to set refresh intervals for dynamic registration on our DNS
servers,

has anyone see or know of standards that we should use for that, ie, every 1
hour.. 4 hours .. 8 hours.

we are currently using Dynamic DNS, and have multiple subnets.

thanks in advance for your help,

Steve K.

Are you referring to the refresh value on the SOA Tab?
This value determines how often secondary/slave nameservers check with the
master for updates.
If you don't have a Secondary zone anywhere, you don't need to change the
value or even worry about it.
That said, RFC1912 2.2 recommends a value between 1200 to 43200 seconds (20
minutes to 12 hours).

If you are using zones stored in Active Directory on all DNS server's
replication is done through AD replication, the replication cycle in AD
Sites & Services, through NTDS settings. I'm not sure of the default value
but you have a choice of none, once per hour, twice per hour and four times
per hour.
