Hello,
We're running our own Windows 2000 external DNS servers. We just finished
setting up a new zone on the server & everything is working correctly (name
resolution & mail are working, etc). My question is the following however:
I know how to setup the MX record for 'domain.com', but what do I need to do
if I want people to be able to send to 'salesdivision.domain.com'?
TIA

This depends on the Mail Server you are using. I can speak for Exchange. You
will need to create a Recipient Policy for 'salesdivision.domain.com' or
modify your existing Policy to include 'salesdivision.domain.com'. And, you
will then need to create another MX for 'salesdivision.domain.com'.

If you have more questions after this, post to the Exchange Setup NewsGroup.

In the domain.com FLZ, create a new Mail Exchanger, in the host or domain
field, put in "salesdivision" in the mail server field put in the mail
server name that has an "A" host i.e. "mail.domain.com" there must be a "A"
host record for this name, never use a CNAME or an IP address.

Thanks for the clarification(s) guys. I forgot to add that we are using
Exchange 2000 so I'll make sure to add the new recipient policies.
Best regards,
Veets
