Event ID:4004. The error reads as follows: "The DNS server
was unable to complete service enumeration of zone *****.
This DNS server is configured to use information obtained
from Active Directory is functioning properly and repeat
enumeration of the zone. The event data contains the error."

How do you check to see if the AD is functioning properly?
I think it might be time to subscribe to TechNet.

Thank you..

If you only get this event at startup you can ignore this.

Use the DCDIAG tool, from the Server support tools on the server CD or
download an updated Dcdiag from http://download.microsoft.com
(search for dcdiag)

I have done that test, the output is shown below. Not sure
whats next?????????

DC Diagnosis

Performing initial setup:
Done gathering initial info.

Doing initial non skippeable tests

Testing server: Default-First-Site-Name\SCU_NT1
Starting test: Connectivity
SCU_NT1's server GUID DNS name could not be
resolved to an
IP address. Check the DNS server, DHCP, server
name, etc
Although the Guid DNS name (720d0138-846a-4ee4-
8905-f463f0154252._msdcs.scupdc.scu.com)
couldn't be resolved, the server name
(scu_nt1.rcn.com) resolved to the IP address
(120.212.212.20) and was pingable. Check that
the IP address is registered correctly with
the DNS server.
......................... SCU_NT1 failed test
Connectivity

Doing primary tests

Testing server: Default-First-Site-Name\SCU_NT1
Skipping all tests, because server SCU_NT1 is
not responding to directory service requests

Running enterprise tests on : scupdc.scu.com
Starting test: Intersite
......................... scupdc.scu.com passed
test Intersite
Starting test: FsmoCheck
......................... scupdc.scu.com passed
test FsmoCheck

Post your ipconfig /all please, it looks like your DC has not registered in
its addresses DNS.
I'm looking for it to only be using its own address for DNS and for the
primary DNS suffix to be supdc.scu.com. So please post it unedited.
If it is not using it own address for DNS change it so that it is, no ISP's
DNS allowed. Restart tne Netlogon servive run ipconfig /registerdns and
rerun dcdiag to see if that clears it up.
Its host name has an underscore in it which is not DNS compatable, DNS names
can only have 0-9 a-z and - to be RFC compliant.

Ran ipconfig /registerdns and reran dcdiag but that didnt
clear it up. Below is the ipconfg /all you requested. Any
other ideas to avoid a format just to change the computer
name?????

Thank you for you assistance!

Thanks for posting the ipconfig, it looks to me like you have a disjointed
namespace, the primary DNS suffix does not match the DNS domain name.
According to the dcdiag your AD domain name is 'scupdc.scu.com', please
verify that by looking in ADU&C to see if that is your actual domain name.
If it is I have a script to correct the primary DNS suffix, you should send
me a email direct by removing the nospam. from my posted email, I will email
the script back to you and the instructions on how to use it.
The underscore may still give you some problems, I would suggest that after
the Suffix is corrected that you add another DC to the domain bring this one
down, then rename the hostname without the underscore and promote it back
into the domain.
