I have recently had Broadband installed on my home
Hostcomputer and everything is working fine (on the host).
When I try and load a web page on the client PC I get the
message 'web page found' with the loading bar showing some
movement but the page does not load (ever). IP allocation
seems fine on both m/c's and the two PCs network OK.
Looked at Knowledge Base and followed the trouble shooter.
Both PCs running XP Professional. Any advice welcome.
Thanks, John.

well i think u r doing better than me, i cant even get
that far!!! i read a few comments about getting
configuring the client comp with same ip and dsn address
as the administrator comp.. but that didnt work either..
the client still cant access the internet, however the
network connection is enabled... any ideas?

Ideally you should have your IP and DNS settings on the
client set to obtain settings for IP and DNS
automatically - for both. This is what I have done but
unfortunately it does not work. What puzzles me is it did
work OK before I changed to Broadband i.e. when I had a
56k modem dial up.

Hello,

We seem to have the same problem with a PC too.
ISDN-connection works well, but the browser or E-mail can
not connect to the internet.
PING works ok though.
Known problem??

Thanks, Peter.

Thanks for this. Yes I can ping 4.2.2.1 and yahoo.com
When I use nslookup I get 192.168.0.1 When I ping this
domain I get message - Non-existant domain returned. I
have looked up ntl's dns servers on their web site and
enered these manually but still the same problem -
browser says website found - page loading; but it does
not. Puzzled to say the least. Any further suggestions
welcome. John.

See my reply from Robert L. I have done all he suggested.
I can ping out etc. but all to no avail. I can contact the
DNS servers outbound but I get nothing back. Have tried
entering the ntl dns servers manually but no difference. I
have decided to buy a new network card for the client and
see if that works - I suspect it will?

John.
