Here is the way everything used to work: I have my computer at home
and I often work remotely. To work remotely, I connect to the
corporate VPN. As soon as I connect to the VPN, WinXP directs all
queries to the corporate internal DNS server.
I have recently connected my computer to a wireless router. The
router acts very similar to the cable modem with the exception that
the DHCP agent assigns the gateway address to the dns addresses as
well. HERE IS THE PROBLEM: For some reason, now when I connect to the
VPN, DNS queries are not directed to the corporate VPN.
1. How can I make sure that XP overides the LAN DNS settings with the
DNS's received from the VPN?
2. How can I view the DNS's in order of priority? IPCONFIG will show
you the primary and secondary of each interface, but not which
interface it will query first.
Thanks!
