DNS PACKET

my event viewr is telling me my dns server is sending
packets addresed to itself.Whats up

First check might be to see if the server is FORWARDING
to its own address????

Or notifying itself of changes to a zone -- check Zone transfers
for each zone, then the NOTIFY button.

Look around for any setting that might point back to (one of) the
address(es) of the same DNS server.

You can try a couple things, but depends on your config. Does this have two
NICs? That will cause this if not configured correctly.

Try Herb's suggestions. Make sure you have a forwarder set.
