Hello,

I have a machine built under XP ,Used the same DNS name it
had prior to being rebuilt under XP. Now after rebulding
the machine when I ping that machine with its DNS name it
times out but when I ping by its DHCP ip address it
replies.Our DNS servers run W2K 2000.

Appreciate any response

Thanks

Have you verified that this machine has registered its DNS name and IP
addresses in the DNS server that it is pointing to?

Verify that the IP address that the DNS name resolves to is the correct IP address.

Thank you,
