I have a stand-alone 2000 server hosting DNS services. I want to delegate
this administration of this server to others but do not want them to be
admins on the server. Is there a group, file perm, reg perm or security
policy change that I can make to allow a regular user to run the DNS manager
without getting an access denied message?

thanks

To manage the Server or to Manage DNS? If it's to manage DNS, add the user
to the DNSadmins group. If it's to manage the Server itself, that's a
problem. To try and come up with a good answer, we'll first need to define
the "latitude" of management. But, I'm sure you meant DNS.

Yes, I meant manage DNS, but only DNS on the server. This is all I want to
allow a user to manage. My thoughts are they would make a RDP connection to
the server, log in, start the DNS manager, do their deed, and not be able to
screw around with anything else on the system. Again, this is a stand-alone
server, not a member server or in any way associated with AD. Is there a way
I can create a DNSAdmins group? If so, what priviliges to I give it and
where?
