Currently experiencing problems with our network - our DNS server cannot be
resolved by any of the Workstations on our network. When I run Nslookup from
any of the client computers the message returned is "Can't find server name
for address *** etc Non-existent domain"
Any ideas how to resolve this behaviour?

Many Thanks

Michael

Haven't seen this one for a week or so -- this is perfectly "normal" and a
bogus
error message that can usually be ignored with NSLookup.

NSLookup stubbornly insists on resolving the name of THE nameserver
being used for the resolution -- when that fails as is common with those who
have no REVERSE zone entry for their nameservers it reports and error
that confuses ALL DNS newcomers.

Down below this, nslookup prints the actual results of the query you made --
that is (generally) ALL that matters. Ignore the reverse "error".

Hello gentlemen. Herb is correct Michael.

Can we get the developers to take this extraneous error warning out of
NSLookup?

PLEASE..
