I have tried enabling dns logging on the logging tab of
the DNS mmc and the dns.log file is created but remains
empty until i restart the service when a copy is placed in
the backup folder that contains none of the information i
have requested for to be logged.

All it contains is:
<-- begin insert -->
DNS Server boot at 7/29/2003.
4120662 seconds since system boot.
Message logging key:

The DNS server has started.

I have searched the KB and have come up blank.

Do i need to add/modify a registry entry or do anything
further for the dns.log file to be populated with the
information requested?

Is there any activity on the name server? If nothing happens, nothing's
logged...
