Hello mails,

Just create a Reverse lookup zone on your DNS server. Exchange sometimes
need it. Should work then.

Best regards

Hi,

I have already that entry. Now what is the problem is that, when i am putting
the ip address in the "Reverse DNS lookup
"in dnsstuff.com i am getting the error like "Answer:
164.164.**.** PTR record: mail.xxx.com. [TTL 86400s] [A=None] *ERROR* There
is no A record for mail.****.com. (may be negatively cached).
So where i need to create the "A" record ?

Hello mails,

Have you created a MX record in your Forward lookoupzone for the exchange
server?

Some mail servers are very picky on accepting email, if everything does
match up just right they won't and really as long as they are following
RFCs, don't have to accept email from SMTP server that do not follow each
and every RFC down to the last detail.

The point here, if you MX record says your mail server HELO name is
mail.xxx.com, and you don't have a PTR for the IP it connects from or an A
record for the exact HELO name, or if all of the above is not met, it is not
required to accept mail from you.
