Hello:

This morning, we had to bring down one of our DNS servers (esternal),
replace and then we added a 3rd server. So, we changed IP's on 1 and added
another is basically the changes that were made.

Still, when doing NSLOOKUP, I'm getting all of the old entries, which ahve
to be cached somewhere since I went over my servers twice already....and the
entries being returned by nslookup, do not exist on my servers.

I understand it takes a bit for DNS to replicate, but I have never had it
take this long and I am wondering if I missed something here. Entries were
chagned on my servers and the new server added to our domain. What can I do
if anything, to correct this issue.

Thanks

What is the TTL of the records in the zone?

I am having a similar problem I think. I changed an IP of
a server. When I try to ping the computer using the
computer name, it returns the old IP address. I changed
it a long time ago and it hasn't updated the information?
I know my replication is working and it can take up to an
hour for DNS to update this information. Is there any way
to do this manually? I've tried removing the computer
from active directory and adding it back but it doesn't
work.

Thanks,
Nick

Are you running WINS?
Is the old record still in WINS?

What is the TTL of the record?
It could still be in the DNS cache on the system ruin ipcofig /flushdns to
clear the system cache.
