DNS issue Not Dynamic Updating

Greetings,

here is my problem, maybe its a known issue.

My domain is native 2000, upgraded form NT4, we recently
sp4 a few of the servers on the windows 2000 domain and
these servers are no longer doing dynamic updates. If I
remove them from DNS, they will not re-add themselves. I
have to go back in and do a static listing

any ideas???

This is a problem on SP4 if you have a single label domain name (domain vs.
domain.com)
