I'm setting up a test network, and I need to configure DNS my computer, then
I'm going to make it a Domain controller(the only one). All I need is a
basic configuration that will work, can someone please help me set it up? I
really don't know where to start, i've looked at some guides, but they don't
seem to be much help. Thanx

The DNS part is pretty simple. First install the DNS service via Control Panel>Add Remove Programs. Next, point this machine to itself and itself only for DNS.
Open the DNS MMC found in Administrative Tools. Right click on Forward Lookup Zones and choose NewZone. Choose a zone type of Active Directory
Integrated. Name the zone after what will be the Active Directory domain name, for instance, mydomain.com. Click Next and Finish. Right click on the newly
created zone under the forward lookup zones folder and choose properties. Set the Allow Dynamic updates option to Yes and click OK.
