Can anyone give me an idea as to how to get these even errors to go away? I
no longer have these domains that is it referring to and was wondering what
I should do to get them off my system.

Event ID: 4007

Source: DNS

The DNS server was unable to open zone
_msdcs.cr.hc.hartvillecollectibles.com in the Active Directory from the
application directory partition
ForestDnsZones.cr.hc.hartvillecollectibles.com. This DNS server is
configured to obtain and use information from the directory for this zone
and is unable to load the zone without it. Check that the Active Directory
is functioning properly and reload the zone. The event data is the error
code.

Do these events only happen at start up?

Yes that seems to be the only time I see them.

Hi Scott, still having problems with app partitions? Thought we took care of
that, but I see this is not one of the zones I worked on (I remember you
have many, so can't remember at this point. WHen you deleted the zone, did
you make sure it went completely away? Remember how I changed that one zone
to a Primary prior to deleting it? (It wasn't this one). Did you take a look
at ADSIEdit to see if that zone exists in there? If so, you can yank it out
of there.

Would you like me to remote back in and take a look?

Hey Ace,

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. I have been rewiring our
computer room and it has been a real nightmare of a job. Anyway that zone
was a zone I created when I first setup this server months ago and then
decided I didn't want the naming convention to be like that. I forget if
Dave Everett had me to a domain rename or if we just deleted it out. If you
want to remote in you can. I will re-enable your access and you can check
it out. This is happening on NT_SERVER which is my root DNS server.

Let me know what you find.

Thanks

Ok, I'll see if I get a liitle time tonite or tomorrow. I'm taking a quick
break myself, doing some renovations, and sanding joint compound is not one
of my favorites! Luckily I bought a Rigid 5" orbital sanders - makes the job
alot easier!!

So you are a Do It Yourself kind of guy like me. Don't you love home
improvement projects? I have totally gutted my entire house and man I don't
ever want to do that again. Manual labor just is not fun. I would rather
work out computer problems instead make sure I have a good 45 degree cut.

Thanks!

Shoot! Sorry,,, forgot all about it.
Yes, got so involved over the weekend with this. Ready to buy a Rigid 12"
sliding chopper with laser. I think its better than the DeWalt, has a bigger
base. Need to do the hardwood floors, trim, etc.

Still want me to remote in?

Sure if you have time. I am also seeing all these WINS errors on the
NT_server now. Did you install WINS on that server? I don't recall doing
that.

Let me know.
Thanks!
