it began when workstations were unable to make automatic update , i check and
i found that IE or firefox makes dns error on access to update.microsoft.com
and support.microsft.com, i made an nslookup test on update and support , all
is ok both are resolved with their cname and ip , i put the
support.microsft.com IP on navigator the site is retrieved quiqly without
errors.
i have the same situation on the win2000 DC server configured with dns ISP
as dns forwarders for the workstations, the nslookup test on the server for
update and support is good .
so only applications are unable to resolve these microsft sites when they
query the dns server.
no dns errors or network acces problems was found on other internet sites.
no cache proxy is present.
it's a strange and a bad problem .
please help.
