DNS error message after update

Ater updating my server 2000 with the latest MS security,
I am getting the following Event ID:

Event ID: 1008
Description:
The Open Procedure for service "DNS" in
DLL "C:\WINNT\system32\dnsperf.dll" failed. Performance
data for this service will not be available. Status code
returned is data DWORD 0.

I applied the following KB:

http://support.microsoft.com/?id=304541

But the error is still occurring.

Any ideas as to how I can resolve this. I am having
problems with it. These updates seem to create more
problems than they resolve them. I am on SP4.
