I cannot connect to the internet using dial-up. The error
is DNS error.. and cannot find server. I also patch ie
and I also repair the winsock.dll but still error occurs.
I also repair the win2000 using the repair option in the
CD but still it doesn't work.

Can you give some idea how to correct this error?

thanks!

Can you post an unedited ipconfig /all with the dial up connection
connected?
When you get DNS error or cannot find server, that means that IE is getting
an IP address but it cannot connect to the server on the IP address IE is
getting.

In addition to the ipconfig /all run ipconfig /displaydns this will display
records cached in the DNS resolver which also displays the contents of the
hosts file in case this is a Hijacked hosts file. You should also see if
nslookup is able to resolve names.
