I get the following error in DNS log at startup:

Event Type: Error

Event Source: DNS

Event Category: None

Event ID: 4010

Date: 11/7/2003

Time: 10:30:54 AM

User: N/A

Computer: SERVER

Description:

The DNS server was unable to load a resource record (RR)
from the directory at 106.1.10.10.in-addr.arpa. in zone ..
Use the DNS console to recreate this RR or check that the
Active Directory is functioning properly and reload the
zone. The event data contains the error.

Data:

0000: 7b 00 00 00 {...

Everything seems to work fine even with error. Anyone know
how to stop / fix this ?

Hi,

This issue often appears to be caused by orphaned or otherwise corrupt or
defunct entries
within the AD.

I would do this:
- Switch the zone to type "Standard Primary" which will intiate a delete of
the zone from the AD.
- Then, manually verify the removal of the zone from AD via AD Users and
Computers.
(View->Advanced Features. System\MicrosoftDNS\<Zone name>)
- Next switch the zone type back to AD integrated, which should intiate a
full-rewrite of the zone data to AD.

This should remove the defunct information and eliminate the events.

Please note in a multi-DC\DNS environment, this operation should only be
needed on
one DNS server, as the "new" copy of the DNS zone will have a newer\higher
serial
number, thus overwriting the previous instances of the DNS zone during AD
replication between DNS servers.
