I am encountering this problem on a new server. i have not ran across this before. Server setup fine, but takes forever to logon to as administrator. It has to do with guid in _msdcs on the same server

The new server is the DC and is running AD and DNS. it is dynamically updating and pointing to itself as dns with forwarders to isp dns servers

Any help appreciated

Have you tried to manualy create cname with guid of server. You can find
guid in netlogon.dns file in %systemroot%\system32\config . Also can you
check your primary DNS sufix of your server. You can find it in My
Computer/Properties/Computer Name/Change/more

It must match your DNS domain name.
