I have a problem with Jet Direct devices losing their
Hostnames after being powered off.
They are configured to use DHCP reservations, all coming
from Win2000 domain controllers.
DHCP and DNS are working fine for rest of our domain.
It's just the dang Jet Direct boxes.
Our mainframe sends print jobs over IP to a hostname, such
as LJ4_10. So if the Jet Direct box loses it's assigned
hostname, the print jobs fail.
Whenever power is cycled on a JetDirect, it changes it's
hostname back to the factory default .... which looks
something like this: NPI3BDBB2
Anybody ever see this ?
