How does a person enable the debug option in DNS? I
would like to filter on a specific IP address on DNS
queries. When I do enable it by selection the
appropriate checkboxes nothing is written to the log.
Also, it I can get it working I would like to redirect
the log to a specific drive on the server. Any ideas?
I've searched the knowledge base and have not come up
with anything that applies to this problem. Thanks in
advance.

You can enable event logging to a higher degree:
198408 - Microsoft DNS Server Registry Parameters, Part 1 of 3:
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=198408

But it puts it into the Event Log. I don't believe you can watch one
specific IP.

You may want to use Netmon to watch that IP. Use the version that comes with
the SMS 20 CDROM. With that you can watch traffic going to and from other
machines, instead of to and from your own machine, which is the default
limitation of Netmon that comes with Windows.
