I have a server to which I moved from a workgroup
environment to AD.
In a 6 month span everything seemed to be working fine
and now after I have added my first two Win XP pro
machines the DNS seems to be either damaged or
disappeared as it now has a red X through it and cannot
connect??
Can some one help...either to rebuild or create a new DNS
structure
LMK and thanks

It sounds to me like you have AD integrated zones but AD has not started.
Can you post an ipconfig /all from the DC?
And the AD domain name?

Just make sure that the DC and all clients point only at the DC for DNS. Do not point at the ISP for DNS. Check the event logs for
any DNS failures on the DC.

Thank you,
