DNS Client Stops Working After Period of Inactivity

Tom

I recently changed my ADSL modem from an Aclatel Super
Touch Pro to a Netopia Cayman Smart modem. Since then I
have found that the Windows XP DNS client stops working
after a period of a few hours of inactivity, for example
first thing in the morning. I can access services using
IP addresses and ping the DNS server. The modem
configuration module can resolve host names but XP
can't. But I have to stop and restart the DNS client
service for windows to resolve host names.

Has anyone come across this before or know what could be
causing it?

TIA,
Tom.

I appear to be having the same problem. I've also noticed
that the nslookup command works just fine in this state.
