DNS Change

My ISP wanted the addresses of the primary and secondary DNS servers
changed. I change this on our DNS server which also runs DHCP. The
change went through when I ipconfig /all. But when I ipconfig a client
it still reads the DNS servers as the original numbers. If I release
and renew the same information comes up. Any ideas?

Where, exactly, did you make the change on your DNS/DHCP server? Did you
change this in the DHCP options so the new addresses are given out to
clients?

For that matter, why don't you set your clients to use your DNS server, then
set your DNS Server to auto-forward to your ISP's servers?

Sorry. I guess I didn't explain myself well. My clients inside use our
internal server for DNS. Our DNS server forwards DNS requests it can't
handle to the isp's DNS servers.

However, our internal clients show the follwing on an ipconfig /all for
DNS servers:

192.168.x.x (our primary)
192.168.x.x (our secondary)
207.x.x.x (ISP primary)
207.x.x.x (ISP secondary)

The ISP primary and secondary are not in the system anymore. Those were
changed. The server itself sees this change, but clients still pull the
old ISPs primary and secondary DNS addresses.

I understand your challenge, but it looks like you didn't understand my
questions. When you changed (whatever you changed), where did you change
it? DHCP? DNS? Somewhere else? Nowhere?

And you don't need to setup any external DNS on the clients. I already see
that you have 2 internal DNS servers.
