dns cache file

I setup Caching-Only Name Server where can I find the
cache file on the dns server ?

The "cache" is not a file. It is in memory.

The "cache.dns" file is an alternative to "root hints".

Why do you want the cache FILE? You can see the context of the in-memory
cache by using the MMC (you might have to enable View\Advanced if I recall
correctly.)

The cache.dns file is located in winnt\system32\dns. It only contains the root hints though. If you want to view the DNS cache,
you can do so via the DNS MMC. You will first need to enable the advanced view via View>Advanced.
