Hi,

I need to configure a Windows 2000 Server as a commercial
DNS Server. I need to be able to provide DNS services for
other companies. I hope to be able to speed up my own DNS
resolution, and provide DNS and other services to
customers. What steps do I need to undertake, and do I
have to register my DNS Server with a particular body.

Thanks in Advance,

Min Riyat.

Start by reading the latest edition (4th I believe) of "DNS
and BIND" by Liu et all. (Published by O'Reilly and you
can find it easily on Amazon.)
Then read the 'Microsoft' derivatvie of this book and all
of the HELP on a Win2000/Win2003 DNS server in the
DNS topic.

Good advise! :-)

Define "commercial DNS Server".

Do you want to be an ISP providing proxy DNS service for customers ? Do you
wish to publish DNS database content to the world for domain names that you
(or your customers) own ? Do you wish to provide proxy DNS service for the
systems within an organization ? Do you wish to publish DNS database content
internally within an organization for use by Windows NT version 4/2000/XP
machines ?

Do these questions seem familiar ? They should. You posted this before.
Your saying the same thing again merely elicits the same response. Please
_answer_ the questions, and you'll get further.
