I'm running a Win2k server. Everything is working OK.
However, I am curious why my Windows XP workstations
don't appear in DNS.

Thanks

Hi Allen,

Which service pack is your Win2k Server?
Are you using single lable DNS zone name?
So, as you said this problem happens in WinXP workstations, right?
Do you have Win2KPro workstations with the same problem?
Do you have WinXP without the problem?

What José Luis said, plus:

"Is you DNS server Dynamic?"
Are you XP clients configured to use ONLY that DNS server (set)?
Do you depend on DHCP or the (other) clients (which register
successfully)
to do the registration?
Are the XP clients member of the domain and have their "domain name
suffix"
(in system properties) set to the same as the dynamic zone?
Are the XP clients using the checkbox that let's them register their
NICs (in
IP properties)?
